The text on this illustrated Edward Lear print read:
"There was an Old Man with a beard,
Who said, "It is just as I feared! -
Two Owls and a Hen, two Larks and a Wren,
Have all built their nests in my beard!
Edward Lear (1812 - 1888) is known mostly for his limericks. His limericks appeared in his 1846 work 'A Book of Nonsense.' This went through three editions and helped to popularise the form.
This mounted print fits into an A4 frame (not included).
